Ethical review boards and committees are increasingly influential in defining research ethics, but this does not mean that researchers whose projects have been approved by such committees are exempt from having to make continuous and sometimes unanticipated decisions on a variety of delicate issues during the actual research process. Qualitative researchers need to reflect on, and manage, ethical, political, emotional and in other ways sensitive dilemmas not only when planning and carrying out research, but also when presenting findings to the public. This session encourages debates regarding different aspects of such challenges in qualitative research.
Session organizer: Terese Anving, Department of Sociology, Lund University, Sweden.
The session is scheduled as number 9.
